Child Safeguarding and Photo Consent

Our commitment

The safety, privacy and dignity of every child we work with comes first. Everyone involved with the foundation — team members, volunteers, mentors and partners — must follow this policy.

Supervision

  • Activities with children take place in group settings, supervised by the foundation and, where relevant, school staff or parents.
  • No volunteer or mentor is left alone with a child.
  • Volunteers and mentors are reviewed and approved before taking part, and are not given children's contact details.
  • This website does not allow volunteers or mentors to contact children directly.

Parents and guardians

  • Applications and event registrations for anyone under 18 need a parent or guardian's details and consent.
  • Parents and guardians may contact us at any time with questions or concerns.

Photographs and publication consent

  • Photo consent is always optional and separate from eligibility for support or participation. Saying no never affects a child's access to any program.
  • We publish photographs of children only with a parent or guardian's consent, and photographs of adults only with their consent.
  • We never publish a child's full name together with their school, village or other identifying details, and never describe a family's personal circumstances.
  • Photographs are processed to remove hidden location data before being stored.
  • Consent can be withdrawn at any time by contacting us. We will remove the photograph from the website promptly.

Children's personal information

Scholarship documents and personal details are stored privately and seen only by authorised reviewers. They are never published.

Reporting a concern

If you are worried about a child's safety or about anyone's behaviour at our activities, contact us immediately using the Contact page (choose "A concern about a child's safety") or by phone. If a child is in immediate danger, call 112 (emergency) or 1098 (CHILDLINE). [REVIEW: name the safeguarding lead and their contact number.]

Health information

We are not a medical provider. Health activities are coordinated with qualified, authorised professionals.
